He settled in Miami, Britto has worked on the street, becoming famous with portraits di Roger Federer, Dustin Hoffman, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Michael Jordan, Gloria Estefan, Andre Agassi, Eileen Guggenheim, David Rockefeller, Senator Ted Kennedy and many other characters in the world of business, politics and entertainment.
Britto has established himself on the international art scene since 1989, when he received from Absolut Vodka commissioned to design the bottle label for an advertising campaign. Immediately after the campaign for Absolut, bizarre style, from cartoons, Britto was requested by large companies to create large murals, sculptures and logos of products worldwide. Recently he has received commissions from companies like Disney and Evian.
Britto was appointed Ambassador of the Arts of the State of Florida. In 2004 his sculpture Welcome, sculpture in the world's largest aluminum was exposed in the station of Dadeland in Miami.
The monumental sculpture of Romero Britto opened the fortieth anniversary of the Montreux Jazz Festival. The portrait of the legendary art dealer and founder of Art Basel, Ernst Beyeler, is now exhibited in the Fondation Beyeler, the Swiss museum which also houses the works of Klee, Cézanne, Picasso, Monet, Matisse and Giacometti.
Britto's works have appeared in numerous publications worldwide. Britto is not limited to painting on canvas, but also designed logos, furniture and costumes. He recently designed the costumes for the 41st Super Bowl.
